Product Giving for Social Good
Founded in 1997 by HRH The Prince of Wales, In Kind Direct distributes consumer goods donated by companies to UK charities working in the UK and overseas. We work with not-for-profit organisations and companies to help ensure that everyone has access to life's essentials and that no usable product goes to waste.
What we do
We distribute new, usable consumer goods, donated by some of the UK’s best known manufacturers and retailers, to charities, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises working in the UK and abroad.
We are a lifeline to thousands of charities helping vulnerable people across the UK, allowing them to spend more of their money on support, not supplies.
Why our work is important
Long before families and individuals go to a foodbank, many have had to give up essentials such as toothpaste, soap, sanitary products and toilet roll. When someone can’t afford to maintain basic personal hygiene, this can have dramatic consequences on one’s self-esteem, access to work and place in society. We can change that.
Supporting In Kind Direct is a simple way to support not just one organisation, but thousands of grassroots charities across the UK tackling a wide range of issues, from child poverty to domestic abuse and disability.
This year In Kind Direct celebrates its 20th anniversary
Over the last 20 years we’ve built a network of over 9,000 partners and distributed over £170 million worth of goods to people in need. We think that’s worth celebrating!

Transforming lives at home and abroad
In Kind Direct International brings together charities in different countries, which specialise in product giving for social good.
Members work together to share expertise and innovation to maximise the benefits of product giving and also collaborate to redirect donations which are surplus in their country of origin.
Current members are In Kind Direct in the UK, Innatura in Germany and Dons Solidaires in France, and the network is continuing to expand in other countries.
