InKind Direct - a registered charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales

Founder's Award

In 2007 the second Founder’s Award was presented by HRH The Prince of Wales to global health and hygiene company, Kimberly-Clark, as part of the celebration of In Kind Direct’s tenth anniversary.

The Award recognises a company that regularly donates a large volume of goods, and has strategically aligned its business goals to giving product to In Kind Direct.

Kimberly-Clark is the manufacturer of Andrex®, Kleenex®, Huggies® and a number of other ‘away from home’ products and has been donating to In Kind Direct for nine years at the time of the Award.

During that time they donated more than £960,000 worth of goods including over 640,000 rolls of toilet paper – enough to paper the path between Lands End and John O’Groats seventeen times – toilet paper being one of the core products needed by charity partners. Kimberly-Clark ensures In Kind Direct gets a steady supply of this core item through a programme of regular donations.

Kimberly-Clark is proud that their association with In Kind Direct means an increasing number of charity partners have the opportunity to benefit from their generosity.

The 2007 Award was designed and created from reclaimed wood and slate at The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts.
