InKind Direct - a registered charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales

Kinds of goods

Companies donate mostly new items* - usually surplus stock, ends of lines, ends of promotions and seconds - which In Kind redistributes to UK charities working at home and abroad. The goods most needed are:

  • Cleaning supplies (detergent, surface cleaners, bleach, paper products)
  • Essential toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes)
  • Office supplies (A4 paper, pens, standard envelopes)
  • Cookware, kitchenware and equipment (pots, pans, serving dishes, toasters and kettles)
  • DIY (power tools, hand tools)
  • Toys, arts and crafts and educational items (toys for all ages, art materials, games, sports eqpt.)
  • Clothing and shoes (suits, work wear, sportswear)

*The main exception to our rule of accepting only newly manufactured goods is IT equipment. Computers that are fully working, less than 2 years old and in minimum batches of 10 can often be professionally refurbished, equipped with operating systems and software donated by Microsoft and supplied to charities as "ready to go" with monitor, keyboard and mouse. We will ask you to cover at least the cost of delivery to our refurbisher.

To find out whether your products are needed by our charity network email David Lloyd on david@inkinddirect.org, or call him on 020 7714 3932.
