New service means new warehouse for In Kind Direct!
In Kind Direct, one of The Prince's Charities, has now moved to a new warehouse in Telford run by The Service Business.
In Kind Direct receives donated products - surplus, end of line and promotional - from household name manufacturers and retailers for redistribution to thousands of UK charities working at home and abroad.
The move has been made with the help of Ceva, Norbert Dentressangle, Coleman and Wincanton which have given enough free transportation to transfer the 1,400 pallets of goods from the DHL warehouse in Milton, Oxfordshire.
Robin Boles, Chief Executive of In Kind Direct, said: "In Kind Direct's move to The Service Business in Telford will enable us to better meet the evolving needs of our charity partners.
"Some charities prefer smaller quantities of items to the bulk amounts of products previously offered. Having a 'pick and pack' system which gives our partners the opportunity to choose precisely what they want, has meant changing to a new warehouse layout that allows us to offer more choice. This requires low level racking and more pick locations than we had before. It will mean that more charities can benefit from the donations generously given by our donor companies.
"This new warehouse also enables us to accept donations of aerosol products, such as deodorants, shaving foam, furniture polish and cleaning products. This will widen the range that In Kind Direct offers to our charity partners, helping them to stretch their tiny budgets even further.
"We would like to thank DHL for their support during the three and a half years we worked with them. During that time our customer base has tripled. In Kind Direct is looking forward to a long successful relationship with The Service Business and being able to offer our service to charity partners of all sizes."
