Office Supplies Stationery Amnesty
PAPER PROFIT
In Kind Direct to benefit from Office Supplies Stationery Amnesty 31 March
Spring clean your stationery cupboard, collect all your unwanted paper, pens, files and other stationery products and take part in the first ever Office Supplies Stationery Amnesty. That’s the message to London companies from office supplies company first2office. The usable items will then be donated to In Kind Direct, the charity founded by The Prince of Wales to redistribute surplus products to good causes throughout the UK.
The unusable and broken office supplies will also be put to good use. At the end of 2006, first2office will stage the first ‘give-me life’ exhibition and arts awards. Students from the Royal College of Art (RCA) will be handed the challenge of transforming the donated ‘recyclable’ products into art, which will be judged by an eminent panel, put on exhibition and auctioned for London charities.

“We’re delighted to have been chosen to benefit from this creative initiative,” says chief executive Robin Boles. “Apart from getting office supplies, which our partner charities always need, the environmental values are completely in-line with In Kind Direct’s, which works to divert companies’ new surplus from landfill to voluntary groups, helping them get the goods they need at a fraction of the usual cost.” To take part in the Office Supplies Stationery Amnesty companies are asked to collect as many surplus office supplies as possible and arrange for these to be collected by completing the ‘come and collect’ form online on http://amnesty.first2office.biz/ Unwanted goods will be collected during the week of 27 March and In Kind Direct staff will be helping to sort donations on 1 April in a first2office warehouse. Certain office items are excluded from the Office Supplies Amnesty for health and safety reasons. Exclusions are shown on http://amnesty.first2office.biz/ For more information on In Kind Direct visit www.inkinddirect.org Note to editors: In Kind Direct is one of The Prince’s Charities.
