DHL is new logistics partner
DHL Freight & Contract Logistics has been chosen as In Kind Direct's logistics partner to provide warehousing and delivery services.
DHL has committed to a three year contract with the charity in respect of which DHL has agreed to provide services at cost. Such services will include DHL’s management, storage and distribution of the donated items at and from its multi-user warehouse in Milton, Oxfordshire. Additional services include stock control and pick and pack services, with deliveries being made across the whole of the UK.
Robin Boles, In Kind Direct’s chief executive says, “The relationship with our logistics partner is a crucial one, providing the link between our charities and donor companies. We are delighted to be working with DHL as we enter a new and exciting phase in In Kind Direct’s development and look forward to a successful and productive association which extends beyond a purely logistics relationship.”
Steve Allen, Managing Director of DHL Freight & Contract Logistics is very enthusiastic about the new project, “At DHL we do regard corporate social responsibility very highly and always endeavour to play a positive role in society as a good corporate citizen. We are very pleased that we have created a bespoke but efficient solution for In Kind Direct at low cost enabling them to continue supporting other charities.”
