Our work together to support displaced Ukrainians

18 March 2022

As the conflict in Ukraine continues, we are working closely with a number of you in our network to define the key product needs to support displaced Ukrainians travelling over the border.  The scale of response has been incredible – from those of you in our network who are aid charities operating in Eastern Europe to the many organisations contributing products to community efforts locally to fill trucks travelling to countries bordering Ukraine.

We know how important it is to be sending only the most needed products during a time of crisis. Your insights and feedback to understand those needs have been invaluable.  As a result, we’ve been able to focus our appeals with our corporate partners and secure product donations quickly to get them to you.  We’ve also really appreciated the photos and social posts you’ve been sharing.

Many of our corporate partners have also been channelling product donations through centrally administered front-line NGOs such as UNICEF and the Red Cross that have been able to coordinate donations from multiple countries in Europe where the companies operate.

Our CEO, Rosanne, was invited to join HRH Prince of Wales when he visited the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral earlier this month to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Among other charities like Jewish World Relief, and the International Rescue Committee, Rosanne was able to meet with the Ukrainian Women’s Association in the UK.

Like many of you, we are also preparing for when Ukrainians arrive to the UK and to ensure that we can continue to support many of you engaged in supporting refugees all year round.   We’ve been speaking with the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee), BitC (Business in the Community) and the Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP) to make it even simpler for companies to donate products and to signpost charitable organisations to access what they need.

Keep your eye on our twice weekly product emails and New Arrivals section of the catalogue for product updates.
