Planning

First and foremost it’s important to have a clear plan to move forward with your social media goals, you will need to begin to look at what your working towards and how you’re going to get there. Here’s a few questions to get you started:

  • How much time do you have to dedicate to your accounts? Little and often can be great to keep up to date and prevent media burnout.
  • What are your goals? What do you want to achieve? This could be anything from receiving more donations to growing your volunteer base.
  • Who is your audience and where do they hang out?  Make an ideal audience character, who are they, what do they do and why do you want to target them. Researching where to find your ideal audience can do a world of good in working out how to target them best.

Call to actions

Post vibrant and engaging content on your page that actively encourages people to interact. This could be graphics, videos or even your latest stats, just make sure to highlight a clear CTA (call to action) spell out a clear action you want your audience to take e.g. to find out more click the link in our bio!

Engaging with others

Creating a community network between you and your peers in a similar field can be incredibly mutually beneficial. Comment, share and like others posts and they’ll really appreciate the support and are also then more likely to return the favour.
