From lolly moulds to toilet roll – how product giving can positively impact your organisation
Thursday 27th August 2020, 15.00 – 16.00, Online
Are you a charity, school or community group providing practical care and support?
Are you a manufacturer or retailer striving to make more impact and with goods to donate?
Do you want to know more about In Kind Direct and how you can help?
We launched a new series of virtual events to bring together manufacturers, retailers and charities to celebrate the power of product giving. At In Kind Direct, we believe everyone deserves access to life's essentials and no usable product should go to waste. We work alongside hundreds of companies and thousands of charities and together provide vital supplies to millions of people each year.
In our first session we heard from Flying Tiger Copenhagen, our lead donor from our recent ‘Holiday at Home’ Summer campaign and Renewal Trust, one of our charity partners delivering amazing services across Nottingham. You’ll also find out more about In Kind Direct’s COVID-19 response and impact, including initial findings from our latest research.
Over the last 10 weeks, the generosity of the companies we work with has been immense, but we are all too aware that the need for products will grow as the longer term impact of the crisis is felt by many. The charities we work with are delivering vital services tirelessly and with fewer resources than before. The coronavirus pandemic has been a huge test for everyone. With announcements of recession, and growing unemployment figures, financial uncertainty is affecting more and more people and organisations across the UK. Our latest research tells us the families and communities our network supports are managing tighter household budgets and are struggling to access essentials like handwash and nappies, as well as toys, stationery and laundry supplies.
This Summer, we’ve launched initiatives to meet the need for vital supplies to keep people clean, safe and entertained. Whether that’s toilet roll, hand sanitiser and cleaning sprays, or toys, games, toiletries and even lolly moulds! Our current campaign ‘Back to Basics’, provides life’s essentials for school, work and home as children go back to school and community centres start to re-open.
