Charitable Network Impact Survey 2024

Charities are being expected to do more with less. Our network of 6,500+ charitable organisations consistently tell us that they are seeing increased need for their services and a decline in income. This level of pressure on the sector is unsustainable and the sector must be supported to meet society’s growing reliance on it.
We are driven by the needs of our network and the people they support. Twice a year, we survey our network to understand their current experiences, their struggles, how products will support their work and, most importantly, their stories about the difference we achieve together.
The briefing below combines the results from our January and June 2024 surveys and explores the current landscape of the charitable sector.

The gift of a toilet roll or hygiene product eliminates the down and out dogma. We call it the Cinderella effect as the hygiene basics literally transform and uplift mentally and socially. It does make a change.”
Commonside Community Development Trust
“With the support of In Kind Direct, we bolster the services that we offer and make them stretch further. This has increased local awareness of our services and encouraged a wider range of people to come into our centre for support.”
