Our Royal Patron HM King Charles III

We were established by HM King Charles III in 1996 to connect companies, with products to give, to thousands of charities serving local communities. Throughout the years, His Majesty The King has been one of our biggest supporters.

“I have seen myself, on my visits, the difference receiving products from In Kind Direct can make to charities’ operations and have listened to some of their beneficiaries explaining the impact receiving quality items has made to their lives. For instance, teenagers have described to me their relief at no longer being bullied about the holes in their shoes having received new branded trainers, and the increase in self-esteem job seekers have gained from receiving ready-for-work clothes, toiletries and make-up. Assistance of this kind really does help to change lives.“

Invest in our communities now and for the future

Our Patrons are a select group of like-minded individuals and organisations who understand the unique impact that our work has on communities. Becoming a Patron is an opportunity to invest in our long-term ambition, building on the vision of our Royal Founding Patron, HM King Charles lll. Without their support, our work would simply not be possible.

We have a clear plan to triple our impact (on a 2019 base) to 2025. This will mean generating savings of £45m for 7,800 charitable organisations and improving the lives of over 600,000 people every week. As well as continuing our core service keeping people clean, safe and well, we plan to develop new ways of working with three specific target groups who have been hard hit by the pandemic: low-income families, small charitable organisations and young people aged 18-24.

To achieve this level of ambition, we plan to invest in team resource, warehousing, IT and our business systems.
