The contribution made by our Patrons is extraordinary. As a charity, we rely on our individual donors, Trusts & Foundations and corporate partners to enable us to keep sourcing and distributing essential goods to frontline charitable organisations across the UK, while tackling poverty. The partnership, generosity and foresight of our supporters make our work possible, and it’s recognised by everyone at In Kind Direct, including our Trustees and our Royal Founding Patron, HM King Charles III.
Our Royal Patron HM King Charles III
We were established by HM King Charles III in 1996 to connect companies, with products to give, to thousands of charities serving local communities. Throughout the years, His Majesty The King has been one of our biggest supporters.

Invest in our communities now and for the future
Our Patrons are a select group of like-minded individuals, Trusts & Foundations and corporate organisations, which understand the unique impact that our work has on communities. They support In Kind Direct with generous donations of products and funding so we can help communities to thrive. Our belief is that everyone deserves life’s essentials and no usable product should go to waste. Becoming an In Kind Direct Patron is an opportunity to invest in our long-term ambition, building on the vision of our Royal Patron HM King Charles III.
We are helping 345,000 people every week to access essential goods, such as hygiene products or household items. We have a clear plan to triple our impact from pre-pandemic level and improve the lives of 600,000 people a week, by the end of 2025. As a charity we will always help to alleviate hardship but our work goes beyond the immediate need. We invest in research and partner with others in the sectors to fight for systemic change and end hygiene poverty in the UK.
